Integrated hybrid propulsion system
Kawasaki Heavy Industries - Stand E6065

Kawasaki Heavy Industries has received the first order for its newly developed energy-saving E-series Rexpeller azimuth thruster. Four units were ordered by China Communications Import & Export Corporation for delivery to Tianjin Lingang Tug, which plans to install them in Port of Tianjin tugboats scheduled to enter service in the second half of 2018.

Kawasaki Hybrid Propulsion System is the highly integrated propulsion system packaged with Kawasaki-made marine machinery products, such as engines and propellers. Additionally, the motor/generator, inverter and energy storage module in the system can convert propulsion power and electric power mutually.

The Kawasaki Hybrid Propulsion Technology can realise an optimised propulsion system configuration based on the efficiency map of engines and propellers.

Those visiting the expo will be able to view a simulator with manoeuvring handle to experience how the Kawasaki Hybrid Propulsion System works.
