Ultra-fast DC breakers

Pay a visit to high-power-switch manufacturer, Astrol Electronic, to see how together with KWx the company has developed a new series of ultra-fast DC breakers for the marine industry.
These water-cooled, solid-state systems enable bi-directional current flow and can be used in high- or low-side power switching. The DC breakers are designed to maximise flexibility when integrating DC grids, while protecting against short-circuit currents in any part of the grid. Various voltage and current levels are realised using a unique modular structure based on IGBT and fast-recovery diode modules.
