Day Three - Port electrification
By early 2027, Spain will have the first green corridor for transporting passengers and their vehicles between two continents. It will be launched with two 100% electric fast ferries, each carrying 800 passengers and 225 vehicles, connecting the Spanish and European city of Tarifa with the Moroccan and African city of Tangier Ville.
The Spanish company Baleària has opted for electricity as a zero-emission fuel, guaranteeing its use by investing in electrification at both ports to guarantee a capacity of 14 MW.
