Freudenberg e-Power Systems (FEPS) announces XWAVE: a new stackable battery system for maritime vessels. The stackable battery system features the Gen 3 SHP mid-nickel, single crystal power cells, state-of-the-art Battery Management System (BMS), and telematics system. The versatile system accommodates new build configurations and integrates with existing systems, enhancing the efficiency and functionality of the vessel’s operation while allowing for increased energy density and larger installations for fully battery powered and hybrid vessels. XWAVE consists of modules that can be connected in series. Every module has a capacity of 17kWh and a nominal voltage of 132V. The modules and the battery disconnect unit (BDU) can be connected in series up to a total voltage of 1048V.
