Hefring Marine and SeaBot Maritime to showcase new partnership at Autonomous Ship Expo
)
Hefring Marine and SeaBot Maritime have announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing high-speed uncrewed surface vessel (USV) operator training through AI integration. Formalized with a Memorandum of Understanding, the collaboration will incorporate Hefring Marine’s Intelligent Marine Assistance System (IMAS)—an AI-driven decision support system, into SeaBot Maritime’s training programs. IMAS enhances vessel safety and performance by making real-time throttle and speed adjustments, addressing the unique challenges posed by operating USVs at speeds over 25 knots.
This marks a shift in operator training from manual control to AI collaboration, equipping professionals to interpret and oversee AI systems effectively. SeaBot Maritime, a leader in uncrewed maritime systems training, will develop and deliver the competency-based content, while Hefring Marine provides the technical platform, system integration, and support. The initiative supports the broader mission of both companies to future-proof the maritime workforce amid rapidly evolving vessel technologies.
The partnership will be showcased at the Autonomous Ship Expo in Amsterdam (24–26 June), where Hefring Marine’s CEO will also deliver a talk on enhancing survivability on unmanned platforms. This collaboration sets a new benchmark in preparing maritime professionals to work at the intersection of speed, autonomy, and intelligent control.
