Cherif is program manager at Green Marine Europe, where he leads the development of the environmental certification program for the European maritime industry. A former merchant navy captain, he combines hands-on seafaring experience with environmental strategy expertise, notably acquired at École des Ponts ParisTech. He supports shipowners and shipyards – and soon ports – in their continuous improvement efforts, coordinates the evolution of the certification framework and facilitates technical working groups. He actively participates in European collaborative projects such as CirclesofLife (Horizon Europe), bringing a rigorous and committed approach to the maritime sector’s transition.
