Dave Gorshkov has significant experience in the marine industry with sea-going experience as a senior engineering officer and shore-based experience managing vessel fleets through refits and dry dockings to draw on. He is currently a senior technical superintendent and electrical subject matter expert with proven in-depth HV power and propulsion systems knowledge and has been involved in various decarbonization projects implementing cold ironing and onshore power microgrid systems. Recent projects include major environmental and operational projects introducing new vessels with hybrid power and improving vessel power quality and fuel savings to achieve IMO 2030 and class rules.

Onshore power (OPS) – considerations for port operators
New decarbonization regulations are being implemented across the marine industry globally and port operators need to be aware of new requirements which come into force as early as 2025 for certain vessels in Europe. Onshore power (or OPS) has become a major aspect of decarbonization strategies that ports need to adopt to meet the latest GHG regulations (such as FuelEU ) and this presentation provides both port operators and shipowners/operators with an outline of the requirements they will need to achieve over the next few years to meet the new regulations.
