Madadh MacLaine

Madadh is a visionary social entrepreneur leading the drive towards zero emission (ZE) shipping. Her extensive network of over a thousand connections engaged in the maritime energy transition covers shipowners and technology providers to policymakers and researchers. Madadh's background in ZE shipping began in 1999 with the founding of Fair Winds Trading Company’s sustainable development project in West Africa and designs for a ZE multi-access cargo vessel. She began working in the wider industry with the founding of the International Windship Association where she remained an active board member until 2020. Madadh has a strong background in hydrogen, having represented PEM electrolyzer manufacturer ITM Power as business development manager in shipping and maritime. In 2019, Madadh founded ZEM Tech, an innovative system design, engineering and project management consultancy focused on ZE ship design and ZE marine fuel infrastructure and supply chains.
