Jörn Bullert

Dr Jörn Bullert has a PhD in physical chemistry and started his career as an engineer at Volkswagen in the field of exhaust aftertreatment. After various stations in project management, sales and business development in the automotive and off-highway market, he now holds the position of vice president product management at Cavotec and leads the high-power charging systems segment. He is mainly responsible for driving the megawatt charging business unit, defining and executing the roadmap and strategy as well as creating and executing the business plan, providing cleantech solutions to valued customers.

This presentation offers unique insights into selecting optimal charging systems for e-ferries. It will give a guideline for selection criteria and will cover battery capacity, C-rate and operational schedules, alongside comparisons of AC and DC charging, uncooled and cooled cables and HV and LV systems. It also compares manual and automated connections, addressing placement constraints, space requirements and quay conditions like tidal variations.
